How tennis clubs keep tennis members motivated?

Determination needs to be there in every player. For this the player itself, parents, coaches and tennis trainers have to really work hard. They make their best efforts to keep them motivated and enthusiastic.
Following are few situations that make young and adult players lose their enthusiasm in game-
  • Initially everyone is excited to play tennis, but gradually lose their interest; the prime reason behind it is over training of children and adult during tennis programs in CT that causes to lose their interest in the game.

  • External distractions by parents, friends, computer games, other sports also restrain them to focus on the game, which is inclined to lose their interest.

  • Asking irrelevant or too many questions like; where are you from; what are you enjoying in tennis training program; what do you enjoy about tennis the most; would you keep coming to the club; will you tell others about the club; what do you feel we need to change in order to provide things better in the club etc. irritates players. This eventually makes them think that do should they continue the game further or not.

  • Aggressive or impatience behavior of parents, coaches, trainers, friends and relatives make players lose their confidence and force them to think to quit the game.

Hence, to keep members or players motivated, following are few ways carried out by coaches or experts of tennis clubs -
  • First of all coaches need to be friendly with players, so that they can learn the game, as well as have fun playing the game. Therefore, club authorities make a point to have matches or professional tours that increases the interest of children and adult players.
  • A respectable environment should be created.
  • Positive experiences are shared with the players that boost them for playing good.
  • Goals are set for them, so that they have something to look forward and also put in their best efforts to attain those goals.
  • Make them practice, so that they can be good in the game. Alongside this, also helps keep them determined and dedicated towards the game.
  • They are told to watch and reading sporting stories, which will help inspire them.
  • Negative are said to note down and work on it so that no one can take advantage of their negative points.
  • A focus is made on their positives.

Tennis gives an immense opportunity to individuals to en-cash it as a business. Example, if one is able to learn the basic skill-sets, then he can take up a test conducted by USPTA (United States Pro Tennis Association) which will certify him/her and allows one to train others.

Sense of Belongingness:

If one is associated with a tennis club, it gives an opportunity for an individual to play in a tournament at National Level. The clubs from other states come together at one place in a team of 5 to 10 to compete against other clubs from various other cities. The pride of clubs is at stake in these tournaments. It helps one to compete, play for pride and players showcase a sense of belongingness. Moreover, the clubs offer a number of other remuneration services such as swimming pools, dressing rooms, dedicated trainers, and crèche facilities as well.
